2020-12-18Keep URIs encoded in the acquire systemDavid Kalnischkies
We do not deal a lot with URIs which need encoding, but then we do it is a pain that we store it decoded in the acquire system as it means we have to decode and reencode URIs eventually which is potentially giving us slightly different URIs. We see that in our own testing framework while setting up redirects as the config options are effectively double-encoded and decoded to pass them around successfully as otherwise %2f and / in an URI are treated the same. This commit adds the infrastructure for methods to opt into getting URIs send in encoded form (and returning them to us in encoded form, too) so that we eventually do not have to touch the URIs which is how it should be. This means though that we have to deal with methods who do not support this yet (aka: all at the moment) for which we decode and encode while communicating with them.

2016-08-24do fail on weakhash/loop earlier in acquireDavid Kalnischkies
The bugreport shows a segfault caused by the code not doing the correct magical dance to remove an item from inside a queue in all cases. We could try hard to fix this, but it is actually better and also easier to perform these checks (which cause instant failure) earlier so that they haven't entered queue(s) yet, which in return makes cleanup trivial. The result is that we actually end up failing "too early" as if we wouldn't be careful download errors would be logged before that process was even started. Not a problem for the acquire system, but likely to confuse users and programs alike if they see the download process producing errors before apt was technically allowed to do an acquire (it didn't, so no violation, but it looks like it to the untrained eye). Closes: 835195
2015-12-19tests: support spaces in path and TMPDIRDavid Kalnischkies
This doesn't allow all tests to run cleanly, but it at least allows to write tests which could run successfully in such environments. Git-Dch: Ignore
2015-09-01Consider md5sum no longer a usable hashMichael Vogt
The md5sum hash is broken since some time and we should no longer consider it a usable hash. Also update the tests to reflect this.
2015-06-15condense parallel requests with the same hashes to oneDavid Kalnischkies
It shouldn't be too common, but sometimes people have multiple mirrors in the sources or otherwise repositories with the same content. Now that we gracefully can handle multiple requests to the same URI, we can also fold multiple requests with the same expected hashes into one. Note that this isn't trying to find oppertunities for merging, but just merges if it happens to encounter the oppertunity for it. This is most obvious in the new testcase actually as it needs to delay the action to give the acquire system enough time to figure out that they can be merged.
2015-06-15provide a public interface for acquiring changelogsDavid Kalnischkies
Provided is a specialized acquire item which given a version can figure out the correct URI to try by itself and if not provides an error message alongside with static methods to get just the URI it would try to download if it should just be displayed or similar such. The URI is constructed as follows: Release files can provide an URI template in the "Changelogs" field, otherwise we lookup a configuration item based on the "Label" or "Origin" of the Release file to get a (hopefully known) default value for now. This template should contain the string CHANGEPATH which is replaced with the information about the version we want the changelog for (e.g. main/a/apt/apt_1.1). This middleway was choosen as this path part was consistent over the three known implementations (+1 defunct), while the rest of the URI varies widely between them. The benefit of this construct is that it is now easy to get changelogs for Debian packages on Ubuntu and vice versa – even at the moment where the Changelogs field is present nowhere. Strictly better than what apt-get had before as it would even fail to get changelogs from security… Now it will notice that security identifies as Origin: Debian and pick this setting (assuming again that no Changelogs field exists). If on the other hand security would ship its changelogs in a different location we could set it via the Label option overruling Origin. Closes: 687147, 739854, 784027, 787190
2015-03-16test exitcode as well as string equalityDavid Kalnischkies
We use test{success, failure} now all over the place in the framework, so its only consequencial to do this in the situations in which we test for a specific output as well. Git-Dch: Ignore
2014-05-09use HashStringList in the acquire systemDavid Kalnischkies
It is not very extensible to have the supported Hashes hardcoded everywhere and especially if it is part of virtual method names. It is also possible that a method does not support the 'best' hash (yet), so we might end up not being able to verify a file even though we have a common subset of supported hashes. And those are just two of the cases in which it is handy to have a more dynamic selection. The downside is that this is a MAJOR API break, but the HashStringList has a string constructor for compatibility, so with a bit of luck the few frontends playing with the acquire system directly are okay.
2013-10-03use pkgAcqArchive in 'download' for proper errorsDavid Kalnischkies
With a bit of trickery we can reuse the usual infrastructure we have in place to acquire deb files for the 'download' operation as well, which gains us authentification check & display, error messages, correct filenames and "downloads" from the root-owned archives.
2013-09-26test: apt-get source with more than one argumentDavid Kalnischkies

2013-09-26print-uris prints regardless of quiet-level againDavid Kalnischkies
While the InstallPackages code was moved from apt-get into the private library the output was moved from (std::)cout to c1out which isn't shown in quiet level 2 (and above), so we flip back to std::cout to ensure that it is always printed as you are not going to use --print-uris if you don't want to see the uris… Closes: 722207
